On the eve of the INDIA bloc’s assembly in New Delhi, the Trinamool Congress, a significant constituent of the alliance, urged the Congress to desert its “Zamindari tradition” and work in the direction of presenting senior leaders like Mamata Banerjee because the face of the alliance.

Ms Banerjee, the TMC supremo and Chief Minister of West Bengal, is already in New Delhi for the assembly and has advocated that the bloc’s PM candidate be determined after the 2024 Lok Sabha polls.
