The BJP-ruled Vadodara Municipal Company (VMC) in Gujarat has issued a discover to former India cricketer and not too long ago elected Trinamool Congress (TMC) Lok Sabha MP from Baharampur Yusuf Pathan for allegedly encroaching on a plot of land the civic physique stated belongs to it.

“I haven’t got any grudge in opposition to Yusuf Pathan. A plot in Tanadalja space beneath TP 22 is a residential plot owned by VMC. In 2012, Mr Pathan had demanded this plot from VMC as a result of his home, which was beneath building at the moment, was adjoining to that plot. He had provided almost Rs 57,000 per sq. meter,” Mr Pawar advised reporters.

The proposal was cleared by the VMC at the moment and it was handed within the basic board assembly. Nonetheless, the state authorities, which is the ultimate authority in such issues, didn’t give its approval, he stated.

“Although the proposal was rejected, the VMC didn’t put up a fence across the plot. Then I got here to know that Mr Pathan has encroached upon the plot by setting up a compound wall round it. Thus, I’ve requested the municipal company to conduct an inquiry,” stated Mr Pawar.

Mr Mistry confirmed the sequence of occasions resulting in the state authorities not approving the sale of the 978 sq. metre plot to Mr Pathan and stated a discover had been served to him for alleged encroachment.

“Just lately, we acquired some representations about him setting up a compound wall. Thus, on June 6, we served a discover to Mr Pathan and requested him to take away all of the encroachments.
