New Delhi:

India has suggested its residents in Kenya to train utmost warning and prohibit non-essential motion amid violent protests within the East African nation in opposition to the federal government’s proposed tax hikes.

“In view of the prevailing tense state of affairs, all Indians in Kenya are suggested to train utmost warning, prohibit non-essential motion and keep away from the areas affected by the protests and violence until the state of affairs clears up,” the Indian consulate in Kenya mentioned in an advisory posted on social media platform X.

“Please observe native information and Mission’s web site and social media handles for updates,” it added.

Not less than 5 protestors have been shot lifeless and greater than 150 others injured in Nairobi as police used tear fuel and dwell rounds after hundreds stormed into Kenya’s Parliament and set a part of it on hearth.
