A ride-hailing firm in Singapore is investigating an incident during which a driver made racist remarks towards a passenger, asking the individual to ‘Return India’.
The unnamed passenger shared an account of the incident, and screenshots of the dialog with the motive force belonging to Seize, a ride-hailing firm, on the Instagram account ‘sgfollowsall’ on Thursday, The Straits Instances reported on Friday.
The alternate started with the motive force, who stated he was not in a position to attain the pickup level attributable to close by highway works and advised the passenger to not wait.
The passenger then requested the motive force to cancel the journey if the latter was not coming. The motive force responded by asking if the passenger was Indian.
