Hyderabad:

An interfaith couple was harassed and assaulted in Hyderabad on Monday. The video of the incident went viral on social media, prompting Charminar Police to provoke a probe which led to the arrests of 4 people. 

Within the viral footage, a number of Muslim males confront a person accompanied by a lady in a burqa carrying a child. They repeatedly hit the person, allegedly below the belief of his Hindu identification, expressing disapproval of his presence in Charminar with a Muslim lady. 

The accused demanded proof of his non secular affiliation, insisting on seeing his Aadhaar card. Regardless of the pleas of the girl within the burqa, the sufferer endured additional harassment.

The police booked a suo motu case on Tuesday and shaped particular groups that had been swiftly assembled to trace down the accused. The next day, 4 people had been arrested. Cell phones containing the viral video proof had been seized from the accused, aiding the investigation.

“4 individuals bodily abused the couple. The girl had a child together with her. The accused tried to hurt the newborn as nicely,” stated Charminar ACP P Chandrasekhar. “The accused have been arrested and might be produced in courtroom.”
