The incident came about in Dadenggre in West Garo Hills

A lady in Meghalaya was overwhelmed with sticks by a bunch of males after she was accused of getting an extra-marital affair.

In a video going viral of the incident, which came about in Dadenggre in West Garo Hills, the girl may be seen being brutally assaulted in public. 

The video confirmed a number of women and men being muted spectators. 

The police have arrested 5 individuals after a case was registered beneath the related sections.

In response to the police, the accused alleged that the girl was having an extra-marital affair.

In the meantime, Santa Mary Shylla, the Sutnga Saipung MLA who’s the Chairperson of the Meghalaya Meeting Committee on Girls Empowerment, took observe of the incident and sought a report from the police.

She mentioned she would additionally ask the Superintendent of Police of all of the 12 districts of Meghalaya to stay alert in opposition to any kind of crime in opposition to girls.
