A girl in Meghalaya was crushed with sticks by a bunch of males after she was accused of getting an extra-marital affair.

In a video going viral of the incident, which passed off in Dadenggre in West Garo Hills, the girl might be seen being brutally assaulted in public. 

The video confirmed a number of women and men being muted spectators. 

The police have arrested 5 individuals after a case was registered below the related sections.

In line with the police, the accused alleged that the girl was having an extra-marital affair.

In the meantime, Santa Mary Shylla, the Sutnga Saipung MLA who’s the Chairperson of the Meghalaya Meeting Committee on Ladies Empowerment, took notice of the incident and sought a report from the police.

She stated she would additionally ask the Superintendent of Police of all of the 12 districts of Meghalaya to stay alert towards any sort of crime towards ladies.
