Beirut:

An Israeli strike on southern Lebanon killed a senior Hezbollah commander on Tuesday, the Iran-backed militant group mentioned.

It named the commander as Sami Abdallah, alias Abu Taleb, born in 1969, in an announcement reporting his demise “with nice pleasure and nice honour”.

A Lebanese navy supply mentioned the commander was “a very powerful in Hezbollah to be killed to date because the begin of the conflict” between Israel and Palestinian militant group Hamas in Gaza, which has fuelled violence on the Lebanese border.

The supply mentioned the strike hit the city of Jouaiyya, 15 kilometres (9 miles) from the Israeli border, and in addition killed three different folks.

Exchanges of fireside throughout the border between Hezbollah and Israeli forces have intensified over latest days.

Clashes across the border have killed no less than 458 folks in Lebanon, in line with an AFP depend.

Israeli authorities say no less than 15 Israeli troopers have been killed in that combating.

Tens of 1000’s of individuals have been displaced.
